The Story Behind The Crystal Effect
I started The Crystal Effect in 2017 as a way to support myself and my daughter while attending school. Before this, I managed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine office, but balancing the demands of running an office, overseeing staff, and maintaining good grades became overwhelming. Since school was my top priority, I made the difficult decision to step away from my demanding job. However, one pressing question remained—how would I take care of my home and bills?
That’s when The Crystal Effect was born. I decided to utilize a skill that I had taught myself as a teenager, and turn it in to something bigger. At first, I braided hair around my school schedule, but I quickly realized how much I loved it! I enjoyed meeting new people, the creative freedom, and the flexibility that came with working for myself. As my passion grew, I decided to invest more into my business, eventually putting school on the back burner.
What started in the comfort of my home soon expanded into a salon setting, where I had the privilege of working alongside and learning from incredible stylists. Running a business hasn’t always been easy, but it has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. It has allowed me to connect with amazing clients, grow as a stylist, and do what I truly love. I can’t imagine doing anything else—serving my beautiful clients brings me so much joy! With over 25 years of expertise. Braiding isn’t just my profession—it’s my passion, and I take pride in delivering flawless styles that make my clients look and feel amazing.
