Hair Length Requirement: Your hair must be 3-4 inches long all around. Hair shorter than 3 inches will result in cancellation, and you will be responsible for 50% of the balance due.
Hair & Scalp Health: If you have problematic edges (front, back, or sides) or breakage, please inquire before booking. I do not service clients with alopecia to prevent further damage.
Hair Preparation: Your hair must be freshly washed and completely blown out using a blow dryer with a comb attachment. Do not apply any oils, moisturizers, or leave-in conditioners before your appointment, as this may lead to cancellation if I do not have time to wash your hair.
Shampoo Services: Shampoo services are available upon request, but your hair must still be fully detangled. Additional fees apply:
Detangling Fee – If your hair requires detangling, an extra charge will apply.
Unscheduled Blowout Fee – If I have to blow out your hair and it was not scheduled, a $5 fee will be added.
Unscheduled Shampoo Fee – If a shampoo service is needed but not scheduled, a $20 fee will be added.
(fees are in addition to the add on price of the service)
Scalp Condition: Your scalp must be free of dandruff—I will not work over dandruff. If you are unable to properly wash your hair (including dandruff removal) or blow it out, please add the service to your appointment.
Saying "I tried" will not prevent cancellation.

I service clients 13 and up. If you wish to book an appointment for a child under 13, you may do so, but:
Pricing remains the same regardless of age.
The child must be able to sit still for the entire appointment. If they are unable or unwilling to do so, I will not be able to complete the service.
If the service cannot be completed due to the child’s inability to sit still, you will still be responsible for the full balance.

What is Afterpay?
Afterpay is a buy now, pay later service that lets you split your total into 4 interest-free payments. You get your service now and pay over time—with no hidden fees, as long as you pay on time.
How does Afterpay work?
Afterpay breaks your total into 4 equal payments. The first payment is due at booking, and the remaining three payments are automatically deducted every two weeks.
How do I book my braids using Afterpay?
It’s easy! Just follow these steps:
Choose Your Style – Select your desired braid style and any add-ons.
Pick Your Date & Time – Schedule your appointment as usual.
Use Code: AFTERPAY – Enter AFTERPAY at checkout (deposit screen).
Receive Your Payment Link – After booking, I’ll send you a secure Afterpay link.
Pay in 4 Installments – Complete your payment within 24 hours of receiving the link.
Is Afterpay really interest-free?
Yes! There’s no interest or hidden fees when you pay on time. If a payment is late, Afterpay may charge a small late fee.
Do I need approval to use Afterpay?
Afterpay approves orders instantly—no credit check required! You just need to:
✔ Be at least 18 years old (19+ in some areas)
✔ Have a valid debit or credit card
✔ Have a U.S. billing address
What happens if I miss a payment?
Afterpay will send reminders before each due date. If a payment is missed, they may charge a late fee and freeze your Afterpay account until the balance is cleared.
Can I use Afterpay for all services?
Yes! Afterpay is available for all braid styles and add-ons.

From time to time, I offer exclusive specials that may include extra services or require additional time. To take advantage of a special, you must book it under the designated special category, as adjustments cannot be made at the time of service. Specials apply only to new appointments and cannot be applied to existing bookings. If a special was not selected at the time of booking, it will not be honored at the time of service or payment. Ombré is custom only and can only be done as FULL LENGTH and is extra in addition to the full length fee.
For THREE TONE OMBRÉ, you must order this hair yourself from Amazon, 8 packs is enough for any style. Again ombre has to be full length. So make sure to also book the full length add on only, you do NOT need to add ombre + full length
Appointments scheduled on the following holidays will incur an additional $100 fee:

Appointments scheduled outside of my regular business hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or my scheduled days off, will incur a $65 overtime fee.

Rescheduling Policy:
You may reschedule your appointment once as long as it is done at least 48 hours before your scheduled time. Your deposit will transfer to the new appointment.
Rescheduling within the same day (changing your time slot) does not count as a full reschedule but must still be done at least 48 hours in advance.
Any additional reschedules will require a new deposit.
You must reschedule your own appointment through the link in your confirmation email. Do not text me to reschedule. If you cannot reschedule through the email, the deadline has passed.
Only the available dates on the booking calendar can be selected when rescheduling.
Changes to Your Appointment:
To change your style, you must text me in advance.
If your desired date does not appear after selecting your services and add-ons, it is not available. Do not book a placeholder appointment expecting to modify it later.
No changes can be made on the day of your appointment. It is your responsibility to book correctly.
Cancellation Policy:
You may cancel your appointment up to 48 hours in advance using the link in your confirmation email.
After the 48-hour mark, you may text me to cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment will be subject to a fee of 20% of the remaining balance.
Sickness Policy:
If you are feeling sick in ANY way—sneezing, coughing, runny nose (sniffles), itchy eyes, sore throat, or any other symptoms—please stay home.
If you arrive and I notice any signs of illness, I will end your appointment immediately, and you will still be responsible for the full balance.
Please be respectful of my business and other clients. If you are sick, cancel or reschedule your appointment in advance.
No-Call, No-Show Policy
If you fail to show up for your appointment without notice, you will be charged 50% of the remaining balance as your spot cannot be filled on short notice.
Additionally, you will be required to pay in full at the time of booking for any future appointments.
Same-Day Cancellations:
The following situations will be treated as a no-call, no-show and charged 50% of the remaining balance:
Hair condition-related cancellations (e.g., excessive dandruff, dirty, or oily hair) after arrival.
Booking the wrong style and needing to cancel on the day of your appointment.
Arriving sick and being unable to proceed with the appointment
Late Policy:
Please notify me before your appointment if you will be late. This is a courtesy that allows me to adjust accordingly.
You have a 20-minute grace period only if you inform me in advance that you are running late.
If 10 minutes have passed and you have not contacted me, your appointment will be marked as a no-call, no-show.
The grace period does not extend simply because you informed me that you’ll be late.
After 20 minutes, your appointment will be canceled and subject to the no-show fee.
Late fees may apply after 20 minutes and will be determined on a case-by-case basis
Sickness Policy:

If this is your first appointment or your first time using a card, I will take a photo of you after your service. This is non-negotiable; however, if you prefer not to be posted on social media or my website, I will respect your privacy.
You must use your own card. If paying with someone else’s card, that person must be present.
I DO NOT accept Apple Pay, Venmo, or Cash App
Refunds
All payments, including deposits, are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon by The Crystal Effect LLC. Deposits will only be refunded if the appointment is canceled by The Crystal Effect for reasons beyond the client's control. Cancellations due to factors such as lateness, incorrect style selection, improper hair preparation, illnesses, severely damaged hair, alopecia, or scalp conditions (including excessive dandruff or open sores/scabs) are not eligible for refunds. Clients must communicate any concerns or dissatisfaction before making payment and leaving the establishment. Once payment is made for services, no refunds will be issued.
🚫 No Guests Policy – No Exceptions ⛔
Absolutely no guests are allowed during your appointment—no exceptions.
Food & Work Policy:
You are welcome to bring lunch or snacks, or have food delivered.
You may work during your appointment as long as you can keep your head positioned as needed.
Please schedule any meetings around your appointment, as this is a salon setting with other clients present. I cannot guarantee a silent environment.
Video meetings are strictly prohibited.
Wifi is available upon request.
To ensure a smooth appointment and the best results, please refer to the following chart when booking your style. You must book based on the actual length of your natural hair.
🔹 You cannot book a style that matches your current hair length, unless it is a crochet style.
🔹 For example: If your hair falls mid-back, you must book a style that falls full-length or lower-back.
This policy is crucial to allow enough time for your appointment. If the incorrect length is booked, I may not have time to adjust the style due to other scheduled appointments.
⚠️ Please note: If you book the wrong length and your appointment has to be canceled, you will still be responsible for 50% of your remaining balance.
